Welcome to Ai chatbot : Translator Ai (“the app”, “we”, “us”), operated by Facemeet Private Limited. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have.
TL;DR: Translations run on your device whenever possible. Cloud and AI features send only the text or image you submit. The free version shows ads and may track you if you allow it. We do not sell your personal information for money.
1. Information We Collect
Content You Give the App
- Text you type, paste, dictate or send in chat, translation, grammar, polish, phrasebook and tutor features.
- Voice. When you use dictation, voice conversation or face-to-face mode, speech is transcribed with Apple's Speech framework. Where your language supports it, recognition runs on your device.
- Camera images and photos. Camera translation, the Text Extractor and image chat read text and content from pictures you take or choose. Photos are picked with the system photo picker, so the app only sees the items you select and does not request access to your whole library.
- Documents (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, SRT, PDF) you choose to translate.
- Nearby conversation. To talk with someone next to you, the app connects to their phone over your local network or Bluetooth and exchanges the translated messages with that device. It asks for local network permission first. Cards and videos you create are saved to your photo library only when you ask.
Device and Usage Information
- A persistent device identifier generated by the app. It is stored in your Keychain and app storage and can sync through your iCloud, so it can survive deleting and reinstalling the app.
- Your advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking when asked.
- App version, iOS version, device model, language and region settings, and approximate usage events such as screens opened and features used.
- Crash and performance data to help us fix bugs.
Subscription Information
Purchases are handled by Apple. We receive your subscription status, product and renewal information (through a subscription management provider), but never your payment card or Apple ID password.
Feedback
If you send a rating or feedback, we receive your message together with the app version, iOS version, device model and locale. Feedback is delivered to us through a team messaging service or by email.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To translate, transcribe, read aloud, extract text, check grammar and answer your chat and tutor requests.
- To remember your history, favorites and phrasebooks, and sync them through your iCloud.
- To verify your Premium access and apply free-tier daily limits.
- To show ads to free users, measure ad performance and attribute installs.
- To monitor stability, prevent abuse and improve the app.
- To respond to your support requests.
Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on: contract (to provide the app and your subscription), consent (tracking and personalized ads, and where required, optional features), and legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, stability and improving the app). You can withdraw consent at any time.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
3. On-Device and Cloud Processing
Where possible, translation runs on your device using on-device translation engines and language packs, including offline packs you download.
Some features need the cloud. When they are used, the text (and any image you attach to AI chat) is sent to:
- Our translation servers, together with the source and target language and your device identifier.
- Third-party AI service providers, for AI translation, grammar and polish, chat, tutor and phrasebook features.
Data sent to our servers and to our service providers is encrypted in transit. Please do not submit sensitive information such as passwords, payment details or health records for translation. Translation and AI output may be inaccurate.
The translation keyboard is a Premium feature. Where possible it translates on your device. When a language pair is not available on your device, the text you choose to translate is sent securely to our servers and our AI service provider (see Section 4), only to produce the translation and return it to you.
- Full Access. The keyboard asks for “Allow Full Access” only so it can connect to the internet for online translation. It works without it, but then it cannot translate.
- Only what you choose. Nothing is sent until you tap translate, and only the text you chose to translate is sent. The keyboard does not record, collect or send anything else you type.
- No storage, no training. We do not store the text or its translation, and we do not use them to train AI models.
- Limited technical data. To confirm your Premium access and prevent abuse, we briefly keep minimal technical records, such as a daily usage count, linked to your subscription identifier. They are deleted automatically after a short time.
- No ads or tracking. The keyboard contains no advertising or analytics code.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following categories of service providers. This list is not exhaustive and may change as we add or replace providers. They process data under their own privacy policies.
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Platform providers (such as Apple) | Speech recognition, on-device translation, in-app purchases, iCloud sync, notifications and device integrity checks |
| Analytics and diagnostics providers | Usage analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring and remote configuration |
| AI and translation service providers | Cloud and generative AI processing for translation, chat, tutor, grammar, phrasebook and keyboard features. These include Google (Firebase AI Logic, Gemini and Vertex AI) |
| Advertising and consent providers | Showing ads, ad mediation and consent management |
| Attribution and measurement providers | Install attribution and ad measurement |
| Subscription management providers | Purchase validation and entitlement checks |
| Other service providers | Hosting, security, customer support and similar services that help us run the app |
Ad networks may receive your advertising identifier, device identifiers, IP address and ad interaction data, subject to your tracking and consent choices.
5. Advertising, Tracking and Your Choices
- The free version is supported by ads. Subscribers see no ads.
- Where required (for example in the EEA and UK), we ask for consent through a consent management form before showing personalized ads. You can change your choice any time under Settings → Privacy Choices in the app.
- On iOS we ask permission through App Tracking Transparency. If you decline, the app still works and your IDFA is not used. You can change this under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- You can also limit ad personalization in your device settings.
6. iCloud Sync, Retention and Deletion
History, favorites, phrasebooks and preferences are stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your private iCloud storage. We cannot read your iCloud data.
You can delete history and favorites inside the app, or delete the app to remove local data. To remove iCloud copies, use iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage. We keep analytics and server logs only as long as needed for the purposes above. To ask us to delete data associated with your device identifier, email info@dudify.app. We may ask you to verify that you own the device before we act on the request.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and device and app integrity checks, to protect data processed by our services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Users
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States and India. By using the app you understand that your information may be transferred there, where laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
9. Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or similar laws), you may have the right to:
- Access, correct or delete your personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time.
- Port your data to another service.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. Use Privacy Choices in the app or the iOS tracking setting.
- Complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email info@dudify.app. We respond within the time required by law (generally 30 days in the EEA and UK and 45 days in California) and may need to verify your identity first. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date above shows the latest version. If a change is significant we will notify you in the app or by another suitable method.
